My name is Amir Gholami. I am a Ph.D. candidate in finance at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), and I will be on the 2025-2026 academic job market.

My research is focused on Corporate Finance with some elements of Asset Pricing. Specifically, my research includes topics covering CEO Compensation, Stock Price Crash Risk, how Cybersecurity Risk and Biodiversity Risk affect cost of capital, and Credit Risk. I have taught multiple courses at UTRGV, including Risk Management, Financial Derivatives, Corporate Finance, and Business Statistics and I am confident about teaching all the typical finance courses at the undergraduate level such as Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Market & Institutions, Money & Banking, Risk Management, Financial Technology, and Derivatives.
